MCSU Ugudasury South Zone | Mizoram Chakma Students' Union

Mizoram Chakma Students' Union (MCSU), Ugudasury South Zone is a recognized zonal unit of the Central Mizoram Chakma Students' Union (CMCSU), dedicated to serving the interests of students and promoting the welfare of the Chakma community within its jurisdiction.

Established on 27 October 2025 with the approval of the Central MCSU, the Zone was formed to provide effective representation for students, strengthen educational development, preserve Chakma culture and heritage, and encourage social responsibility among the younger generation.

MCSU Ugudasury South Zone works to create opportunities for students through educational support, leadership development, sports and cultural activities, social welfare programs, and community engagement initiatives. The organization strives to foster unity, discipline, and cooperation among students while promoting the values of service, integrity, and mutual respect.

Background

The Mizoram Chakma Students' Union (MCSU), Ugudasury South Zone was established with the vision of promoting educational, social, cultural, and welfare activities among students and the wider community within its jurisdiction.

The initiative to create the Zone was undertaken by Milon Chakma, a social activist who was serving as the Games & Sports Secretary of the Central Mizoram Chakma Students' Union (CMCSU) during the period of its formation. The first application seeking approval for the formation of the Zone was formally submitted to the Central MCSU on 25 October 2025. After due consideration, the proposal was officially approved by the Central MCSU on 27 October 2025, marking the birth of the MCSU Ugudasury South Zone. Following its approval, the first Executive Committee was constituted, and Tennyson Chakma was appointed as the Founding President of the Zone.
